Amazon re:Invent —

Launching a scalable transportation platform

Each fall, Amazon hosts AWS re:Invent, a learning-and-training conference for the cloud computing industry. AWS wanted to offer a shuttle-based transportation system to help 40,000 attendees navigate between the 7 Las Vegas event venues.

Our team designed the MVP transportation backend for Amazon employees to monitor and control the flow of 400 conference shuttles. Concurrently, we led the shuttle feature release within the attendee iOS and Android mobile conference companion apps. Here attendees could preview directions and travel times between sessions.

The transportation system for AWS re:Invent was a great success and enabled attendees to make it to more sessions and feel greater satisfaction with the conference offerings.
